Spanish giants Real Madrid have denied being interested in signing talented youngster Nico Williams.
Officials of Los Blancos contacted Athletic Club on Thursday to make it clear that they are not considering any move to sign the Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent.
This comes after widespread reports on Wednesday suggested that Real Madrid are planning a major move to poach the younger brother of Inaki Williams.
This season, Nico Williams has tallied 11 goals and 7 assists across 44 matches in all competitions.
Previously, Barcelona had shown interest in Williams, but eventually shifted their focus to other targets.
With Barcelona and Real Madrid out of the race, Arsenal are now favourites to sign Nico Williams.
It is understood that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already had contact with the Spanish-Ghanaian to formally express interest.
The attacker is, however, reluctant to move as he loves his boyhood club, Athletic Club.
