Karl Toko Ekambi Set to Join Sochaux Ahead of Ligue 2 Campaign
Karl Toko Ekambi is poised to become a new signing for Sochaux next season, according to reports from French newspaper Le Parisien. The Paris FC striker, who has enjoyed a productive season with 13 goals, has reportedly agreed to join the Ligue 2 side following their relegation from Ligue 1 at the end of the 2013-2014 campaign. Negotiations are said to be well underway.
Sochaux faces a significant squad overhaul ahead of the new season, with a number of departures expected as the club adjusts to life in the second tier. Key players such as Kanté, Eickmayer, Marange, Frau, Herelle, and Sauget are all set to leave. Additionally, several loaned players—including Jordan Ayew, Nathan Sinkala, Razak Boukari, and Emmanuel Mayuka—will return to their parent clubs, which include Marseille, TP Mazembé, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Southampton.
The club is also awaiting decisions from other players like midfielder Sébastien Roudet, who is currently considering an offer from Sochaux’s management.
Toko Ekambi’s arrival is expected to bolster Sochaux’s attacking options as they look to mount a strong challenge for promotion back to the top flight. His goal-scoring record this season with Paris FC underlines his potential value for the team in the coming campaign.
