Belgian outfit KRC Genk ready to cash in on Morocco defender Zakaria El Ouahdi

Belgium outfit KRC Genk are reportedly ready to part ways with Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi heading into the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old joined Genk in September 2023 and has since established himself as a key member of the team. He has been a standout performer for the side this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 39 appearances.

The enterprising right-back has, however, become a transfer target for several clubs due to his outstanding performance in the current season.

El Ouahdi’s adaptability, endurance, and attacking contributions from wide areas have drawn interest from suitors.

Genk are now prepared to cash in on the enterprising defender this summer, believing this is the right moment to capitalize on his rising market value.

With offers likely to come in, Genk plans to use the proceeds to invest in young, high-potential players, continuing their tradition of developing future stars. The Belgian side sees the timing as ideal to turn strong individual performances into a broader squad upgrade.
