Adil Rami Eyes Permanent Move to AC Milan Amid Interest from Marseille
Adil Rami has expressed a clear preference to remain with AC Milan, despite earlier links to a move back to France with Marseille.
The Franco-Moroccan defender, currently on loan at the Italian club from Valencia, said: “Clearly, my priority is AC Milan. I hope to stay there to help this club regain its status. In Ligue 1, there aren’t many clubs that could interest me. Marseille? It’s a big club. And yes, I have a lot of respect for this club.”
Although Rami’s loan spell at Milan has been successful, the Italian side has yet to exercise the €7 million purchase option included in the deal. Valencia still retain his registration, but recent reports suggest the Rossoneri are keen to negotiate a permanent transfer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have made an initial offer of €3.8 million to Valencia for Rami’s full rights. The Spanish club has not yet responded to the proposal.
Rami’s desire to stay in Milan reflects his ambition to play at the highest level and contribute to a club aiming to return to Serie A’s elite.
With Marseille reportedly interested but unable to meet his terms, the defender appears set on continuing his career in Italy, where he has adapted well.
Both clubs will now enter talks as the transfer window approaches, with Rami’s future likely to be resolved in the coming weeks.
