Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui admits this season has tested him more than any other, just days before the club’s Europa League final.
The Moroccan right-back, who joined United from Bayern Munich for €15 million last August, revealed that adapting to life at a struggling team has been a challenge.
Used to winning at Ajax and Bayern, Mazraoui didn’t expect to find himself in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
On 13 August 2024, he signed a four-year deal with United and made his debut three days later in a 1–0 win over Fulham. Since then, results have been mixed and the pressure has mounted.
“Am I hurting? Of course, I am,” Mazraoui told reporters.
“I come from clubs where I’m not used to losing. I will never get used to losing wherever I am, as well as here.
“It’s a painful moment but life is sometimes painful and you just have to go through it.”
Mazraoui is hoping to finish his first season in England with silverware, despite the tough ride.
