Benni McCarthy has NEVER demanded to leave quit coaching Kenya – FKF chief Jeff Kinyanjui
Communications Director of Football Kenya Federation, Jeff Kinyanjui, has addressed reports suggesting that Benni McCarthy has demanded to quit coaching the Harambee Stars.
The former Manchester United striker’s coach was unveiled earlier this year as the head coach of Kenya until 2027.
However, McCarthy has been strongly linked to Orlando Pirates after Jose Riveiro is expected to leave the club to join Al Ahly.
However, Kinyanjui, speaking in an interview, has refuted the claims, stating that the coach will not be leaving.
“Benni is still contracted to the Football Kenya Federation as the Harambee Stars coach,” Kinyanjui told KickOff.
When asked if McCarthy possibly sought to resign from the Harambee Stars or if the federation received any notifications about his supposed exit, Kinyanjui replied: “No, we haven’t received anything, Benni is contracted to the FKF.”
