‘There’s no bad blood with Leroy Sane’ – Bayern director Max Eberl insists amid contract extension impasse
The Sporting Director of Bayern Munich, Max Eberl, has indicated that although the club is at an impasses with German-Senegalese forward Leroy Sane over his contract extension deal, there is no bad blood.
According to him, there remains a good relationship between the two parties and the club still wants to continue with the player.
“Now we’ll just see what happens. Our wish is to continue with Leroy. We’ve communicated that. At the same time, we have a framework. If that were to be broken, it would be very, very difficult,” Eberl is quoted as saying by sport.de.
The Bayern Munich Sporting Director added, “I always say: Until the signature is on the card, you can’t say anything. We thought we were on a very good path. Why does he have other advice? That’s not for me to ask. We’re talking to Pini Zahavi and his agency, and then we’ll see. But there’s no bad blood. We’ve treated each other fairly.”
Last month, Bayern Munich and Leroy Sane reached a deal on a contract extension and were ready to sign the necessary paperwork.
The player’s camp later asked for more money. Bayern Munich have stressed that they will not improve the current offer on the table.
This has left the deal in limbo with Sane reportedly considering a move to England.
