German forward of Senegalese descent, Leroy Sane is on the verge of signing his new contract with Bayern Munich.
As reported widely by Africasoccer last month, the club has been engaged in contract extension negotiations with the forward and his agent for a while.
Although several clubs were interested in Sane, he has decided to stay in Germany with Bayern Munich.
He is now on the verge of signing a contract extension that will see him tied to the German giants until 2028.
Leroy Sane, 29, could have left Bayern Munich this summer when his current deal expires in June 2025.
However, he has agreed to a reduced base salary of €10 million plus €5 million in performance-based bonuses, down from his €20 million annual earnings.
He believes that despite interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, and some unnamed Saudi clubs, staying at Bayern Munich is the best decision for him.
This season, Sane has scored 13 goals and provided five assists for Bayern Munich in all competitions.
