Nottingham Forest plot summer move for Cameroon star Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo

Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to The Nottingham Post.

The Cameroon international, who has been instrumental for the Bees this season, is attracting attention from several Premier League clubs.

Mbeumo has been one of Brentford’s most consistent attacking threats and currently leads their scoring charts.

His performances have reportedly drawn interest from Forest, who are looking to strengthen their forward line this summer.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has acknowledged the possibility of losing the 25-year-old, although he stressed the club’s desire to retain him.

“I’m the head coach, I want my best players to stay forever,” said Frank. “I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he’s thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don’t know.”

Frank reaffirmed Brentford’s model as a selling club but warned that any potential suitor would need to meet a substantial valuation.

“Of course, if the right price — and that’s going to be expensive — is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open for it,” he said.

Brentford are believed to value Mbeumo at around £50 million.

In addition to Mbeumo, Forest are also reportedly interested in his teammate Yoane Wissa, who has formed a productive partnership with the Cameroonian this term.

With Forest aiming to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, both players are viewed as ideal fits for the attacking blueprint Nuno Santo is assembling.

However, securing either will require significant investment and competition from other top-flight clubs is expected.
