RS Berkane head coach Moine Chaabani has pointed to fatigue and a demanding fixture schedule as major challenges facing his team following their 1-1 draw with Difaa El Jadida on Thursday in the Moroccan topflight.
The game, held at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, saw the hosts drop points as they prepare for a crucial period, including the CAF Confederation Cup final against Tanzania’s Simba SC.
Speaking in his post-match remarks, Chaabani expressed concern over the physical toll on his squad.
“I’ve raised this point repeatedly: long trips inside and outside Morocco, and tough matches in a short period of time,” he said.
“There is no obstacle ahead of us other than fatigue, because it is our number one enemy, as they say. Nevertheless, we will try to manage the situation to avoid injuries, as happened recently.”
With three league matches remaining and the Confederation Cup final looming, Chaabani emphasised the need for composure and discipline.
“We have three remaining league matches and a decisive final in the Confederation Cup that must be decided. This requires some focus and calm in order to accomplish what is required according to the plan I have drawn up,” he added.
RS Berkane will look to bounce back with a victory when they face COD Meknès at the Stade d’Honneur in their next league outing.
