We hope to reach the final – Nicolas Jackson after firing a double against Djurgarden

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson lit up the night in Sweden as Chelsea powered past Djurgarden 4-1 in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final.

Introduced after the break, the forward made an instant impact, scoring twice to give his team a strong lead heading into the return leg.

“Very good performance, the most important thing is that we won. It is one step forward and we hope to reach the final,” Jackson said after the match.

One of his goals came from a sharp observation of Djurgarden keeper Jacob Rinne’s positioning.

“I saw the goalkeeper [Jacob Rinne] was always out [of his box] so I just shot and it went in,” he explained.

“We won the game and the manager is happy and we are happy.”

Jackson’s performance gave Chelsea the perfect lift as they edge closer to their first European final under current management. The win sets the tone ahead of a tough domestic test, with the Blues heading home to face champions Liverpool on May 4.
