Ghana’s U15 Boys team laboured to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over South Africa’s U15 Boys team on Thursday, April 24, in the 2025 African Schools Football Championship.
The contest serving as the second Group A game for both sides produced an exciting match-up at the University of Ghana Stadium.
From the blast of the first half whistle, both Ghana and South Africa showed intent to win as the players gave their all in both halves of 20 minutes each.
The only goal of the match was scored by Ignatius Hagan, whose brilliance earned all three points for the host.
The win means Ghana tops the Group A standings, having defeated Uganda 2-0 in their opening match on Wednesday.
With six points, the Ghana U15 Boys team are through to the semi-finals of this year’s CAF African Schools Football Championship.

Meanwhile, the Ghana U15 side will play their final Group A match later today. The match against Algeria U15 will kick off at 4 pm at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
