Premier League side, Chelsea, are exploring the possibility of signing Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa this summer.
The Cameroon midfielder’s contract at the Naples club will run out at the end of the 2024/25 Serie A campaign.
However, there is a gentleman’s agreement to extend his stay at the club until 2027, but reports suggest that the 29-year-old is growing increasingly likely to leave the Stadio Maradona at the end of the 2024-25 season.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have already made steps towards a deal for Anguissa, who spent four years on the books of their neighbours and rivals Fulham between 2018 and 2022.
The reports also suggest that there is interest in Anguissa in Ligue 1, specifically from Monaco.
Either way, Anguissa is not expected to make a formal decision over his club for next season until the end of the current campaign.
As things stand, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and his teammates are in the midst of a battle for the Serie A title, as Napoli sit level on points with Inter at the top of the standings with five games to go.
Anguissa has made 30 appearances for Napoli with 6 goals to his credit.
