CAF Champions League: Orlando Pirates are dangerous playing away – Pyramids FC sporting director
Pyramids FC sporting director, Moatasem Salem, has admitted that Orlando Pirates are dangerous when playing away from home.
The Egyptian side will clash with the South African club in the second leg of the CAF Champions League on Friday, April 25, at the 30 June Stadium.
In the first leg at the FNB Stadium, the game ended goalless.
In preparation for hosting the Sea Robbers, Salem has acknowledged that the Jose Riveiro-led team tends to be dangerous when playing away from home.
The South African giants remain the sole team that has not lost in this season’s Champions League.
Bucs defeated Al Ahly and CR Belouizdad in their stadiums during the group stage and triumphed over MC Alger in Algeria in the quarterfinals.
Consequently, Salem has cautioned Pyramid to exercise extra caution as he emphasizes that Pirates are strong outside of Orlando Stadium.
“Jurcic, the Pyramids coach, does not change the team’s playing style except in the narrowest limits, according to the circumstances,” Salem said, as quoted by TwaslNews.com.
“Orlando are dangerous outside their stadium, as they have shown since their group stage matches, and they play better outside their stadium.
“Orlando is good at playing big matches, as we saw against Al-Ahly in the group stage,” he added.
“But Pyramids learned from previous lessons and from their exit from the group stage of the African Championship last season and gained great experience.”
