Ousmane Dembélé may be thriving at Paris Saint-Germain, but when asked to name the best team he’s ever played for, his heart pointed to Spain.
In a recent interview, the French winger was asked if PSG was the best club of his career. His response left no doubt where his loyalties lie.
“I love playing for this PSG. The best team of my life? I can’t say, because I played for Barcelona alongside Lionel Messi, the best player in the world,” he said.
That subtle nod towards Barcelona reveals more than nostalgia it’s a clear mark of respect for his time at Camp Nou. Dembélé spent nearly six years at Barcelona, sharing the pitch with stars like Argentinian legend Lionel Messi and Uruguayan forward Luis Suárez. He won two La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey, but the Champions League eluded them famously falling to Liverpool in 2018 after squandering a 3–0 first-leg lead.
Now at PSG since August 2023, the former Borussia Dortmund winger is shining. With 32 goals and 10 assists in 41 matches, he’s reemerged as one of Europe’s standout wingers.
