Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush, now shining at Manchester City, has hailed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as a towering figure in the Premier League, inspiring a new generation of talent.
Marmoush swapped Eintracht Frankfurt for Manchester City last January, joining his compatriot in England’s top flight. The 26-year-old forward is determined to make his mark, even as he admires Salah’s stellar achievements.
Marmoush told Sky Sports, “It’s great for Egypt to have good players in the English Premier League. Salah is in great form, and it’s not surprising because he is a professional who focuses on what he does.”
He added, “I said before that every player has his own story. Salah has achieved a lot, and now he is a role model. Now I am here trying to write my own story and we will see what happens.”
Reflecting on Manchester City’s campaign, he said, “The team is in fourth place, and we are competing to qualify for the Champions League. It would be nice to win the FA Cup.”
Ahead of the Manchester derby, he predicted, “Manchester United is a big team, and we will win. I hope to be successful in my first derby.”
Fresh off a 2-0 win over Leicester City, where he scored, Marmoush faces Manchester United tomorrow at Old Trafford in a Premier League showdown.
