Al Ahly’s standout player Taher Mohamed has made it clear he’s not entertaining any thoughts of joining rivals Zamalek, regardless of how attractive their offers might get.
Speaking on the “Ramez Elon Masr” show on MBC Masr, Taher took a swipe at Zamalek’s Nabil Emad Dunga, suggesting the midfielder secretly roots for Al Ahly and always dreamed of wearing the Red Team’s jersey.
Taher also set the record straight about his arrival at Al Ahly, denying it pushed Ramadan Sobhi out to Pyramids in the summer of 2020. “I’m more skilled than Ramadan,” he said confidently.
He didn’t stop there, claiming Al Ahly’s Hussein El Shahat outshines Zamalek’s Ahmed Mostafa Zizo in talent. Taher got emotional recounting last season’s match against Baladiyet El Mahalla, admitting he cried after being left on the bench for a game he felt was a sure win and one he earned a spot in.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly gears up for a clash with Sudan’s Al Hilal next Tuesday in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals’ first leg.
