Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence has compared France-Ivorian winger Désiré Doué to Brazilian star Neymar Jr.
Speaking in an interview with Rio Ferdinand Presents, Spence said he believes Désiré Doué is the next big thing, describing him as a generational talent.
“He’s generational. He reminds me of Neymar… [He’s] Neymar-esque, a regen,” the Tottenham defender said.
He added, “When I trained with him at Rennes, I thought, ‘Who’s this guy? Yeah, this guy is going to be something crazy.’ And he’s doing it now at Paris Saint-Germain.”
Djed Spence played with Désiré Doué at French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais during his short loan spell at the end of the 2022/23 football season.
Spenze holds the view that there is more to come from Désiré Doué in the coming years, tipping him to become one of the best in his position in the world.
Désiré Doué, 19, recently earned his debut France call-up after choosing to represent the European country over Ivory Coast.
