Yazid Mansouri, the former defensive midfielder for Lorient and the Algerian national team (Fennecs), has been elected to the executive office of the Algerian Federation (FAF) for the 2013-2016 Olympic mandate. In response to his new role, Mansouri expressed his sentiments, stating, “It’s a new hat that I’m taking on since I’m moving to the other side, and I already miss the field.”
Mansouri acknowledged that, at the moment, he is in a phase of stepping back, analyzing, observing, and listening. He plans to gradually delve into the responsibilities of his new position. While his role is not yet well-defined, he expressed openness to various proposals. However, he indicated a preference for a coordinating role between the federation and the players, particularly the professionals. Mansouri is also open to coordinating with the national coach, emphasizing his willingness to contribute in a meaningful way to Algerian football.
