Hamed Junior Traoré has emerged as one of the standout signings of the Ligue 1 season, with the Ivorian forward making a significant impact since joining AJ Auxerre on loan last summer.
In Auxerre’s latest 2-0 victory over Reims on matchday 25, Traoré once again demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, netting the second goal in the 25th minute.
This marked his tenth goal of the league campaign, placing him in elite company.
He became the first Auxerre player to reach double digits in Ligue 1 after 25 matches since Djibril Cissé achieved the feat in the 2003/04 season with 17 goals.
Traoré’s consistency in front of goal has been instrumental in Auxerre’s push to maintain their top-flight status. Beyond his goalscoring, he has also contributed two assists, showcasing his well-rounded attacking ability.
His technical quality, intelligent movement, and ability to drive forward have made him an indispensable asset in Christophe Pélissier’s squad.
While his long-term future remains uncertain due to his loan status, his performances have undoubtedly strengthened his case for an extended stay at Auxerre.
The club would likely welcome the opportunity to retain the Ivorian forward as they look to build on their progress this season.
