Egyptian Premier League side ZED FC has officially announced the departure of head coach Magdy Abdel-Aaty.

The decision, confirmed on Thursday, March 5, marks the end of his tenure midway through the 2024-2025 season.

A premature exit

Abdel-Aaty, who took charge of ZED FC on July 1, 2022, had been contracted until June 2026.

However, following a mixed run of results in the first half of the current campaign, both parties have opted to part ways before the completion of his contract.

Under his management, ZED FC played 17 league matches this season, recording four wins, nine draws, and four defeats.

The team currently sits in 10th place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 21 points.

Tactical approach and performance

Known for favoring a 4-3-3 formation, Abdel-Aaty implemented an attacking style of play but struggled to achieve consistency in results.

Despite solid defensive organization, the team’s inability to convert draws into victories ultimately contributed to the club’s decision to seek a change in leadership.

Uncertain future for ZED FC

With Abdel-Aaty’s departure, ZED FC now faces the challenge of appointing a new head coach to navigate the remainder of the season.

The club’s management has yet to announce a successor, but speculation is already mounting about potential replacements.

As the team continues its Premier League campaign, securing stability in the coaching role will be crucial for ZED FC’s ambitions, whether to push for a stronger finish or consolidate their mid-table position.
