Paris Saint-Germain wing-back Achraf Hakimi believes his team will bounce back in the second leg at Anfield after Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 win in Paris.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson was the undeniable star of the night, making nine crucial saves to deny PSG despite their 24-shot onslaught. Hakimi, who played the full match, acknowledged the Brazilian’s performance but remains confident about PSG’s chances in the return leg.
“You saw it, the MVP trophy, they gave it to Alisson. I think he had a very good match,” Hakimi said. “He managed all the chances we created. That’s why he deserves his MVP trophy.”
Despite the setback, the Moroccan defender insists PSG’s approach was right and believes the outcome will be different at Anfield.
“We are happy with the work, with the team’s desire. There is a second match left and we are going there to bring home the victory. Matches never happen the same way twice,” he said.
“If we manage to create the same chances, we will definitely score at least a few. We have the ability to win, we have the squad for that.”
