Genoa striker Mario Balotelli has successfully undergone surgery on his right arm following a fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone and another bone on the lateral side of his limb.
The procedure was performed at a private clinic in Milan after several days of unsuccessful therapy necessitated surgical intervention. The 34-year-old forward shared photos of his recovery on his Instagram page. The exact duration of his recovery period remains uncertain.
Balotelli joined Genoa as a free agent in October 2024, marking his return to Serie A after a three-year absence. He made his debut on November 4, 2024, coming off the bench in the 86th minute during a 1–0 victory over Parma. Despite his brief appearance, Balotelli received a yellow card within five minutes of entering the pitch.
According to Transfermarkt, Balotelli’s current market value is €500,000. His contract with Genoa is set to expire on June 30, 2025.
However, recent reports suggest that his relationship with the club has deteriorated, potentially leading to an early termination of his contract.
