Premier League giants, Manchester United have reportedly ended their interest in signing Nigerian international Victor Osimhen in the summer.
Osimhen, who is on a season-long loan at Galatasaray has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with the club identifying him as a potential replacement for misfiring duo of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Manchester United have endured a torrid campaign and are desperate to strengthen their team in the upcoming transfer window.
Earlier reports suggested the Red Devils would trigger Osimhen’s release clause to secure his signature at the expense of other clubs.
In a dramatic turn of event, Manchester United have reportedly ended their pursuit of the Nigeria star, as they sights on alternative targets.
The Premier League giants are said to be pursuing a move for Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko instead
Osimhen will return to parent club Napoli at the end of his loan spell in the summer, with a permanent signing proving impossible.
He has scored 20 goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, the estimated market value of the Nigerian international stands €67.2m.
Osimhen is expected to join the Nigeria national team ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria has been poor in the qualifiers, picking just three points from the initial four games in Group C.
