Nigerian striker Akor Adams has taken the first step towards recovery after sustaining an injury shortly after joining Sevilla FC during the winter transfer window.
Adams made his debut for the Spanish club on 1 February 2025 but suffered a thigh injury that sidelined him.
Medical examinations confirmed the extent of the injury, which was expected to keep him out of action for several weeks.
The 25-year-old has now resumed light running as part of his rehabilitation, signalling progress towards a return.
Club medical staff are optimistic that Adams could be fit to play before the upcoming international break scheduled for 17 March 2025.
Reflecting on his journey, Adams is determined to make a strong comeback. His move to Sevilla FC was completed on 27 January 2025, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 2029.
Before his transfer, Adams made 16 appearances for Montpellier this season, contributing three goals and three assists.
Adams’ return to full fitness will be a welcome boost for Sevilla FC as they look to strengthen their attacking options in the second half of the season.
