Sadio Mané ended his scoring drought in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday, finding the net in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Al-Wehda.
The Senegalese forward, who had gone eight matches without a goal, converted a late penalty in stoppage time to seal the win for his side.
After suffering a 3-2 defeat to Al-Ettifaq in their previous outing, Al-Nassr responded with a strong performance against Al-Wehda, who sit at the bottom of the league table.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 48th minute, giving Al-Nassr control of the match.
Mané then stepped up in the dying moments (90+10) to convert from the spot, securing the three points and marking his return to the scoresheet.
The goal was Mané’s eighth of the season, adding to his nine assists in 33 appearances.
However, his second campaign in Saudi Arabia has been far from his best, with inconsistency affecting his form.
Despite his contributions, he has struggled to replicate the dominant performances that made him a key figure during his time in European football.
For Al-Nassr, the victory keeps them within reach of their title ambitions in the Saudi Pro League.
As the season progresses, the club will be hoping Mané can build on this goal and regain his confidence in front of goal.
