Ghana Football Association has announced that the national team will embark on a preparatory camp in South Africa ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, featuring 32 teams in five different cities.
Ghana, positioned in Group 2 alongside Mozambique and Cape Verde, and set to compete with Egypt, will commence its training camp on December 31.
The Black Stars will spend approximately ten days in South Africa, engaging in a friendly match against Botswana on January 8, 2024, before heading to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The official statement emphasizes that training sessions will be closed to the public.
According to the official announcement, the final squad for the Ghanaian national team will be unveiled on January 3, comprising 27 players.
Ghana will kick off its journey in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 against Cape Verde on January 14, followed by a match against Egypt on January 18, and finally, Mozambique on January 22, 2024.
