The population of Atakpamé, located 160 km from Lomé, demonstrated its support for the Sparrowhawks of Togo through a race that covered the streets of the town situated on the hills. Hundreds of young people, adorned in the colors of Togo’s national team, braved the cool weather of the harmattan to rally support for the team.
In addition to the street event, a mass was held in the morning at the Sainte Famille parish in honor of the Eperviers (Sparrowhawks). Adebayor Sheyi and his teammates were set to face the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the quarter-final of the CAN 2013 on that Sunday.
