Senegalese striker Saliou Diop could be on the move, with Swiss Super League club FC Lugano reportedly keen to secure his services on loan for the second half of the 2024-25 season.
The 19-year-old, who joined Stade Brestois from Senegal’s Challenge FC academy in February 2024, has struggled to break into the first team and may be set for a temporary switch to gain valuable playing time.
According to Africafoot, FC Lugano has dispatched representatives to France to initiate discussions over a potential deal.
Stade Brestois is said to be open to the idea of a loan move, recognizing the benefits for both the player and the club.
Diop himself is also reportedly eager to make the switch in search of more regular game time.
Despite facing limited opportunities at Brest, the young forward is not short of suitors, with several clubs monitoring his situation.
However, Lugano appears to be leading the race, as talks between the parties continue in an effort to finalize an agreement.
A move to Switzerland could provide Diop with the platform to showcase his talent at a high level and accelerate his development before returning to Brest with greater experience.
