Sheffield United have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Christian Nwachukwu from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, with the 19-year-old penning a contract until 2027.
The deal includes an option to extend for a further two years, pending final approval of the necessary paperwork.
The Championship club identified Nwachukwu through their evolving data-driven recruitment strategy, an approach manager Chris Wilder believes will help shape the team’s future.
“Christian joins the club after being identified through our new data-driven transfer strategy.
We are discovering a new approach that may take time to bear fruit, but we are open to these new methods and look forward to working with Christian and other players to see where it can take us,” said Wilder.
Excitement for a New Chapter
Nwachukwu, eager to begin his journey with the Blades, expressed enthusiasm about his move to England.
“I’m looking forward to coming to Sheffield, playing for United, and continuing my development.
I’m looking forward to meeting the other players and getting started,” he said.
The young winger now awaits final clearance to officially join his new teammates as Sheffield United continue their push for success in the Championship.
