Mohamed Bayo set to play key role in Lille's season under Bruno Genesio

Lille OSC striker Mohamed Bayo, who had attracted interest from Premier League club Ipswich, is now on the verge of sealing a move to Belgium’s Royal Antwerp, reports Foot Mercato.

The 26-year-old forward has struggled for consistent playing time at Lille this season, with striker Jonathan David firmly ahead of him in the starting lineup.

Despite starting in the club’s impressive 6-1 win over Feyenoord, Mohamed Bayo’s future at the French club looks uncertain. Jonathan David is expected to leave in the summer once his contract expires, but Mohamed Bayo’s departure seems likely to happen sooner.

Earlier this week, L’Équipe revealed that both Ipswich and Turkish side Besiktas were monitoring Mohamed Bayo’s situation. However, it appears Royal Antwerp will be his next destination. Foot Mercato adds that the Belgian club is looking to finalize the deal ahead of their weekend clash against Club Brugge, with a loan move now looking imminent.
