RC Lens secure rising Swedish-Nigerian star Jeremy Agbonifo on loan

RC Lens have secured the signature of promising Swedish talent Jeremy Agbonifo on loan from Allsvenskan club Häcken.

The deal includes a near-mandatory €6.5m option for a permanent transfer, set to be triggered if Lens retains their Ligue 1 status, which seems nearly certain. The winger, who impressed in his brief spell with Häcken, has already netted six goals and provided three assists in just 18 appearances. Agbonifo will wear the No. 25 shirt at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, with his contract running through to 2028.

“We are happy to sign Jeremy,” said Lens CEO Pierre Dreossi. “At 19, this winger displays developed technical and athletic qualities, which he has demonstrated under the banners of his formative club and with the Sweden U-21 national team in recent months.”

With a bright future ahead, Agbonifo could make his debut for Lens as they face Montpellier this Friday at Stade de la Mosson, marking the start of an exciting chapter in his career.
