2025 AFCON: Senegal to face Benin, DR. Congo and Botswana in Group D

The Teranga Lions of Senegal have been placed in Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they will face Benin, DR Congo, and Botswana in the group stage.

The draw, which took place in Rabat, Morocco, on Monday, January 27, sets the stage for the Teranga Lions to aim to conquer the continence. After winning their first AFCON in 2021, Senegal will be hoping to secure a second championship in the upcoming edition.

The 2025 AFCON will begin on Sunday, December 21, and conclude with the final on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

With a strong squad and high expectations, Senegal will look to navigate Group D successfully, although all games against Benin, DR. Congo and Botswana will be tricky.
