Saïd Benrahma nears exit as Neom SC closing in on Lyon star
Saïd Benrahma, Olympique Lyonnais’ versatile attacker, is on the verge of sealing a transfer to Saudi Arabian side Neom SC, according to reports from Foot Mercato.
The Algerian international, formerly of West Ham, has been in advanced talks as Lyon scramble to generate funds before the January transfer window closes.
With Lyon grappling with financial troubles and facing the looming threat of relegation to Ligue 2, the club has prioritized offloading high-value assets. Benrahma, 29, emerged as a prime candidate for a winter departure, and it appears the deal is nearing completion.
Already this window, Lyon have sanctioned three sales, and Benrahma’s potential exit could be the fourth. The winger, who has netted three goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season, would bolster Neom SC’s attack as the Saudi Pro League continues to attract global talent.
Details of the transfer fee remain under wraps, but a deal could be imminent as Lyon race against time to stabilize their finances.
