FC Sevilla have reportedly turned their attention to Arouna Sangante, a 22-year-old Senegalese central defender playing for Le Havre AC, as they seek to bolster their defensive lineup during the current transfer window.

The Ligue 1 club has reportedly set Sangante’s value at €5 million, with discussions already underway between Sevilla and the player’s representatives.

Sangante, who captains Le Havre, had caught the eye of Sevilla’s sporting director, Víctor Orta, during the summer of 2024.

At that time, a potential transfer appeared imminent, but the move was ultimately put on hold after Loïc Badé’s proposed departure fell through.

Now, with Badé still a target for Aston Villa, the situation could be different. Sevilla are reportedly waiting for a more compelling offer for Badé, with the potential sale expected to generate around €25 million, which could provide funds for the club to pursue other targets, including Sangante.

Despite an injury that has limited Sangante to just seven appearances this season, his leadership and potential on the field remain highly regarded.

Last season, he made 37 appearances in Ligue 2, playing a pivotal role in Le Havre’s promotion to Ligue 1.

Although his current contract, which runs until 2026, could complicate negotiations, Le Havre are reportedly open to discussions if an offer in the region of €5-6 million is made.

While strengthening their defense is a priority, Sevilla are also seeking to enhance their attacking options.

Reports suggest that the club is targeting Alerrando, a striker from RB Bragantino, to add depth to their forward line under manager García Pimienta.

As Sevilla continue to assess their options for the remainder of the transfer window, the club’s pursuit of Sangante could play a crucial part in their efforts to reinforce both their defense and attack in the coming weeks.
