England defender of Nigerian descent, Tosin Adarabioyo shared his delight on Monday night after scoring his first English Premier League goal.
The defender started for Chelsea in the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers and scored the opening goal for the Blues.
In a post on social media after the match, Tosin Adarabioyo expressed his excitement and appreciation to the Chelsea fans for their support.
“First Premier League goal for the club! We’re grateful for the support Blues. UP THE CHELS,” Tosin shared on X.
The Round 22 encounter saw Chelsea dominate early on, with Tosin Adarabioyo having a goal initially disallowed in the 26th minute for offside.
However, after a VAR review, referee Simon Hooper overturned the decision, allowing the goal to stand and sparking celebrations among the Chelsea players.
Despite taking the lead, Chelsea conceded just before halftime when Wolves’ Matt Doherty capitalized on a costly mistake by goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to level the score at 1-1.
In the second half, Marc Cucurella restored Chelsea’s advantage in the 60th minute, reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the box and slotting home a precise finish.
Noni Madueke then sealed the victory with a well-placed header, ensuring Enzo Maresca’s side walked away with all three points.
