Monaco strengthened by Wilfried Singo and Denis Zakaria’s return for Aston Villa clash
AS Monaco have received a significant lift ahead of their UEFA Champions League showdown against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, with Wilfried Singo and Denis Zakaria set to bolster the squad.
Both players were sorely missed during Monaco’s surprising 2-1 defeat to Montpellier HSC on Friday. Zakaria had been sidelined by illness, a condition that also impacted several teammates, while Singo was nursing a minor back issue. However, manager Adi Hütter delivered promising news at Monday’s pre-match press conference, expressing optimism about their availability for the pivotal clash.
“Some players back like Denis (Zakaria), I think. He will be able to play, and Golo (Aleksandr Golovin) too after sickness. (Christian) Mawissa is also back, and I think that Singo can play as well. It is much better when you have almost every player on the teamsheet. We have training today. We will then look at their stats and see if they can be in the starting XI,” said Hütter.
The return of Singo and Zakaria offers Monaco renewed strength as they aim to overcome a strong Aston Villa side.
