Ivorian international Maxwel Cornet is on the verge of sealing a move to Italian Serie A side Genoa after successfully completing his medical examination.

The 29-year-old forward, who is owned by West Ham United, spent the first half of the season on loan at Southampton but is now set for a fresh challenge in Italy.

Italian outlet Calciomercato reports that Cornet’s transfer to Genoa is imminent, with only the final formalities left before an official announcement.

Having struggled to make a significant impact in his previous stint, the former Olympique Lyonnais star will be eager to revive his form in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

With determination and hard work, Maxwel Cornet will be hoping to establish himself as a key player for Genoa and make his mark in Serie A
