Al Ahly has dismissed speculation linking them with a move for Kelechi Iheanacho, according to the Nigerian forward’s agent, Roger Wittman.
The 28-year-old, who joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, has struggled for regular playing time at the La Liga club, leading to rumours of a potential exit.
Despite reports suggesting Al Ahly’s interest in Iheanacho, Wittman has firmly refuted these claims.
“No one in Egypt has contacted us to discuss the player, so this information is totally false,” Wittman stated in an interview with AS, making it clear that the multiple African champions have had no discussions regarding the player.
Iheanacho, who has yet to score or register an assist in nine league appearances for Sevilla, has found himself sidelined at the Spanish club.
His lack of involvement has raised questions about his future at the club, sparking speculation about a possible move away from Sevilla this month.
However, with Al Ahly denying any interest, Iheanacho’s next steps remain unclear.
The Nigerian international, who has been a key figure for his national team in the past, will be closely monitoring the transfer market for potential opportunities.
