Former Ivory Coast defender Arthur Boka is hoping Egypt star Mohammed Salah stays at Liverpool.

Salah’s current contract with the Reds expires in the summer and has yet to sign a new deal with the Premier League giants.

However, Boka has urged his African brother to stay at Liverpool, having become an icon of the club.

“I hope Salah continues with Liverpool because he has become an icon for the Reds and has a large fan base.”

Meanwhile, the former Strasbourg marksman has expressed his disappointment over the exclusion of Egyptian star Mohammed Salah from the African Player of the Year Award

“I am surprised that Mohamed Salah was excluded from the list of candidates, which opened the door to questions.” He told Koora in an interview.
