Everton striker Iliman Ndiaye scored a magnificent equalizer against Manchester City on Wednesday, bringing his team level after an early setback in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The match saw Everton struggle in the opening 15 minutes, during which they conceded the first goal.
Bernardo Silva’s deflected effort in the 14th minute gave Manchester City the lead. Despite the early dominance from the home side, Everton gradually found their rhythm as the game progressed.
Although the Toffees didn’t create many clear-cut chances in the first half, they came close with a volley from midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye in the 28th minute.
However, it was Ndiaye who would bring the visitors back into the game with a moment of individual brilliance.
In the 39th minute, a deflected pass from Manuel Akanji fell into Ndiaye’s path.
The Senegalese forward, showing remarkable composure and skill, struck the ball with the outside of his right foot, sending it past goalkeeper Stefan Ortega and into the net.
The goal marked Ndiaye’s fourth of the season, and his outstanding strike was one of the highlights of the match.
With that equalizer, Everton were able to reset the balance, and the score remained 1-1 until the final whistle, a result that reflected their resilience after a tough start.
Despite being on the back foot for much of the match, Everton’s response demonstrated their determination and the quality of Ndiaye’s finishing.
