Cody Gakpo has urged his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah to extend his stay at the club, as the Egyptian forward’s contract is set to expire this summer.
Salah has been heavily linked with both PSG and Saudi Arabian clubs.
The forward, who has been a standout performer for Liverpool, currently leads the Premier League’s top scorer chart with 15 goals.
Gakpo has expressed his admiration for Salah’s remarkable achievements.
“It is special what we are all witnessing,” the Dutch attacker said.
“The amount of goals he scores but the assists he gives as well, the way he plays the game, how he puts other attacking players or midfielders like myself in a position to score and to be dangerous is from a high level.
“I hope for us and for him that he can continue doing that for a long time. We are very lucky to have him and proud that we can be his team-mate and try to make him better. And he is trying to make us better as well.” he added.
Salah will be eager to maintain his excellent goalscoring form when Liverpool hosts struggling Leicester City at Anfield.
