Leicester City will be without key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old, who has been a central figure in the Foxes’ midfield this season, sustained an injury during the team’s 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion two weeks ago.
As a result of the injury, Ndidi was unable to feature in Leicester’s match against Newcastle United last weekend, and manager Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed that he will not be available for the Wolverhampton game either.
The Nigerian international is currently undergoing rehabilitation as he works towards a full recovery.
“Wilfred is not ready to return to action,” van Nistelrooy stated, adding that the club is closely monitoring his recovery.
While the midfielder has been an integral part of Leicester’s campaign, making 15 league appearances so far this season, his absence will be a significant loss for the team.
Ndidi’s injury leaves Leicester with a gap in their midfield as they look to continue their push in the league.
The club will hope that his rehabilitation progresses smoothly, allowing him to return to the pitch in the near future.
