Azzedine Ounahi’s market value declines amid Panathinaikos loan move

Ounahi

The market value of Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi has experienced a decline, according to the latest valuation update from the reputable website Transfermarkt.

The midfielder’s value has dropped by €2 million, going from €12 million to €10 million.

Currently on loan at Greek side Panathinaikos, Ounahi joined the club in September after falling out of favor at Olympique de Marseille.

The Moroccan moved on a loan deal that includes an €11 million purchase option, signaling Panathinaikos’ intent to invest in the 23-year-old’s potential.

Ounahi gained global recognition during the 2022 World Cup, where his performances drew praise, including from then-PSG coach Luis Enrique.

However, despite his international acclaim, his club career hit a roadblock at Marseille, leading to his departure.

Notably, Ounahi turned down lucrative offers from the Gulf, including a reported €7 million annual salary proposal from Qatari side Al Sadd.

The midfielder opted to remain in Europe, prioritizing his career growth and ensuring his continued selection for Morocco’s national team over financial gain.

Despite the recent dip in his market value, Ounahi’s talent and ambition remain undiminished. His decision to stay in Europe reflects his commitment to maintaining a competitive edge in his career and national team contributions.

As his time at Panathinaikos unfolds, the Moroccan international will be looking to reignite his form and boost his standing in the football world.
