Jonathan Tah has addressed the growing speculation surrounding his future, revealing that he won’t make any decisions about his next move until 2025.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender, whose contract runs until June 2025, was quizzed on transfer rumors after his team’s 2-1 victory over FC St. Pauli.
“I’ll make my decision about where and what I’m doing next year,” Tah explained, adding that the exact timing of that decision remains uncertain.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with FC Barcelona, but he dismissed reports of a meeting with Barça’s sporting director Deco, stating, “No, I haven’t met anyone.” He also hinted at ongoing discussions with his agent, Pini Zahavi.
Bayern Munich, who showed interest during the summer, are still believed to be potential suitors, with Tah acknowledging the honor of such rumors.
Born in Hamburg to an Ivorian father and German mother, Tah grew up in the Altona district. While his future remains uncertain, the next few months will determine if he stays with Leverkusen or seeks a new challenge in Spain or within Germany.
