Ghana forward Inaki Williams was on target for Athletic Club as they secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Villarreal on Sunday evening in La Liga.

The win helped Athletic Club maintain their strong position in the Spanish top-flight league.

The match kicked off with an early lead for the hosts. In the 21st minute, Aitor Paredes capitalised on a well-timed sequence of passes between the two teams to put Athletic Club 1-0 ahead.

Despite Villarreal’s efforts to level the score, the visitors couldn’t break down Athletic’s defense in the first half.

After the break, Athletic Club took full control of the match. In the 69th minute, Inaki Williams sealed the victory with a fantastic team goal. Oihan Sancet played a perfect ball through to Williams in the penalty area, and the Ghanaian striker made no mistake, slotting the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 2-0.

Inaki Williams played a key role throughout the match, lasting 86 minutes before being replaced by Nico Serrano. With his goal, Williams now has four goals and four assists in 16 La Liga appearances this season, continuing to show his value for Athletic Club.

The 2-0 win added three important points for Athletic Club as they look to remain competitive in the La Liga standings.
