Ghana international, Inaki Williams played a pivotal role in Athletic Club’s surprise 2-1 victory over the mighty Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The 30-year-old forward started the match at Estadio San Mames and went the full 90 minutes, putting in a tireless shift for the home side.
The action-packed encounter began with Real Madrid taking an early lead through Kylian Mbappe’s strike in the 14th minute, but the goal was quickly disallowed after a VAR review determined the French star was in an offside position.
The first half ended goalless, setting the stage for a second-half showdown between the two La Liga heavyweights. It was Athletic Club who struck first, with Alex Berenguer finding the back of the net in the 53rd minute to give the hosts the advantage.

Jude Bellingham did manage to equalize for the visitors in the 78th minute, but Athletic Club were not to be denied. Gorka Guruzeta scored the winning goal with just 10 minutes remaining, sealing a famous victory for the Basque side.
