Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has praised AS Monaco head coach Adi Hutter, calling him one of the finest coaches he has worked with in his career.
Salisu made the remarks ahead of Monaco’s Ligue 1 clash with Olympique Marseille, which ended in a disappointing 2-1 defeat, with Salisu playing the full 90 minutes.
The defender, who recently returned from an injury sustained during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, had been sidelined following a setback in Ghana’s 2-0 loss to Sudan, a result that dented the Black Stars’ qualification hopes for the tournament.
Salisu highlighted the similarities between Hutter and his former coach in England, Ralph Hasenhüttl, particularly praising their shared philosophy of high pressing, which aligns with his own playing style.
“He is similar to one of my former coaches in England, Ralph Hasenhüttl. He has the same philosophy of play based on high pressing, a style that I particularly like and that corresponds to mine” Salisu said.
“I feel like we have progressed a lot between last season and this one. So I would say that he is one of the best coaches I have worked under in my career.”
Monaco currently sits third in the Ligue 1 standings, with Hutter having previously enjoyed success in the Champions League and winning the Swiss Super League with Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys.
