Ivory Coast seeks new National Technical Director to revitalize football

The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has announced a recruitment drive to fill three pivotal positions, including the role of National Technical Director (DTN). This move comes as the Elephants navigate a challenging period under coach Emerse Faé, marked by a recent dip in form and a slide in the FIFA rankings.

In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the FIF outlined its commitment to strengthening the country’s football infrastructure.

“As part of enhancing its technical capacities and the strategic development of football in Côte d’Ivoire, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of a National Technical Director (DTN), a Training Director, and a Coach-Selector for the National Women’s A team,” the federation announced.

Aiming for Structural and Strategic Growth

The new appointments aim to streamline and enhance the development of football at all levels in alignment with FIF’s strategic objectives and international standards.

The federation emphasized the significance of these roles in shaping the future of Ivorian football. The deadline for submitting applications has been set for December 8.

Vacancy in Leadership

The DTN position has been vacant since August, following the departure of Ludovic Batelli. Appointed in 2022, the Frenchman’s contract was not renewed, leaving a leadership void at a critical time for Ivorian football.

Since Batelli’s exit, former goalkeeper Alain Gouamené, a key figure in Ivory Coast’s 1992 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, has served as interim director.
