The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) officially handed over the newly renovated Stade Honorable in Meknès on Friday, marking a significant milestone for sports development in the region.

Mohamed Godard, Vice President of the FRMF, expressed pride in the facility’s completion, which is now equipped to host national and international matches.

Speaking at the inauguration, he congratulated the residents of Meknès and highlighted the stadium’s transformation as a vital enhancement to Morocco’s sports infrastructure.

“Today, we announce the delivery of the stadium with excellent specifications,” Godard stated.

“We have inspected the new additions, including a changing room, a conference hall, a press gallery, natural grass, and other facilities now available at the stadium.”

Godard emphasized the importance of the venue, describing it as a qualitative addition to Morocco’s already impressive portfolio of sporting infrastructure.

“We are pleased to have prepared this stadium, which will serve as an important asset for Moroccan sports.

A delegation from the CAF (Confederation of African Football) will soon visit to evaluate and approve the venue, allowing it to host national and club matches in continental competitions,” he added.

The stadium’s renovation reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its facilities ahead of high-profile tournaments, including its upcoming role as a co-host for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The revamped venue is expected to bolster local sports development while reinforcing Morocco’s position as a leading footballing nation in Africa.

With modern amenities now in place, the Stade Honorable of Meknès is poised to become a cornerstone for sports events, strengthening both the community’s pride and Morocco’s readiness for global competitions.
